This has big "all lives matter" energy.
I saw this reply coming… to say that we should protect kids — without explicitly calling out trans kids — does not water down their plight in any way. Please guys, let’s leave that kind of decisiveness to Reddit and focus on where we agree and not where we disagree.
Saying "protect all kids" certainly waters down the plight, because this is also voiced by people who really doesn't want to protect trans kids. By saying "protect trans kids" you are specifically saying that trans kids should be protected also. Protected from people who say "think of the children", people who want them harm.
