I agree, I don't kid around with safety. And if anyone else does, I will stop them or get hurt trying.
Besides the obvious argument of not hurting others, bows are in a weird legal limbo in a lot of places. If archers start behaving irresponsibly, then that limbo vanishes and bows will be regulated like firearms. I would really like that to not happen.
Speaking as someone who has no concept of the culture of this community (hi from all!):
The only thing we take more seriously than safety here is producing top quality memes.
