Being sick and gay are also things that happened in the 50s but which were not widely discussed.
I'm saying that they're in the same panel, moron. Not that they shouldn't have a panel of their own. It's a right wing talking point that being gay is to be a pedophile, and this reinforces it by putting them on the same level.
That is not the intention of the meme, and not the way it's read. Are we supposed to also think that young girls wishing to go to college is also an equivalent to rape just because it's in the same panel? What sense is there to that? You have misinterpreted the meme. The meaning is as follows: the 50s sucked, gay men were forced to be in the closet, drug use was rampant, women's rights sucked, sexual abuse was unchecked, disease was rampant, etc. and everyone just pretended life was perfect.
The world doesn't revolve around right wing talking points, and neither should you. The idea of this meme is so simple, yet you can't see it because of these arguments in your head. Take a break from the internet, seriously.
