Bazzite is very nice for gaming only. If you want to do any dev-related things, like installing Wireshark or programming an ESP32, anything that needs to access outside of the sandbox/container, you will need to learn how to navigate through sandbox/container hell, exposing ports from each other, and installing things directly to rpm-ostree, etc. It gets ugly really fast.

A gaming device should not be an... eierlegende Wollmilchsau. It should play games with minimal bullshit. The possibility of being a general computer does not necessarily demand the ease of being a general computer. So long as you're the one deciding when and how it acts like a fixed-function gizmo, great.
