I don't even assume this person has a daughter. For all we know, they have a non-binary child and wish them "happy daughter's day" every year. Not that I have a mom like that or anything /projection

Classic pessimist vs optimist argument. Pretty sure that one is a fallacy though.

I wouldn't assume that. What a horrible position to be in. I could see my mother slapping this on and exclaiming GET IT IT'S A JOKE?! Which, how does a reasonable person respond to that? Most would probably wince and move on, while mom is gleefully unaware at how much it hurts her daughter.

And we haven't even gotten to what if daughter can't have children and is too ashamed to admit it!
