"These attacks violate the human right to life, absent any indication that the victims posed an imminent lethal threat to anyone else at the time."

That's in watches position, the claim is laid by Egypt and the UN is unquestionably held hostage but the UK and the US so your not going to get their agreement. You do however gain an understanding of pattern or practice of illegal occupation of Sovereign land.

If you actually cared about extremism you'd know there's a Israeli group in Lebanon who advocate and take actions for the expansion of illegal settlements in Lebanon, they are very very not quiet about it.

It's not called an occupation because they're all getting jobs.

So what's your point then? I'm only commenting on the hypocrisy of people calling out Israel for targeted attacks on their enemies, the same enemies who have made it clear that they want to kill any Isrealis.

[-] Madison420@lemmy.world 4 points 5 months ago

You're implying it's ok for them to act worse.

It's not a country they are at war with nor a country that is at war with literally anyone. Israel carried out a heinous attack on their civilian population without warning and with booby trapped civilian items in contravention on international law.

Israel can't claim the high ground while violating sovereignity committing terrorist acts. Why are you so sure Israel acting like terrorists is somehow excusable.

[-] OccamsRazer@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago

Were these targeted attacks against hezbollah militants (who are sworn enemies of Israel and are responsible for terrorist attacks inside Israel) or were they against random civilians living in Lebanon? How do you define terrorism?

[-] Madison420@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago

More importantly how do you define terrorism.

[-] OccamsRazer@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago

I will go with "random attacks on civilians intended to instill fear in a populace". Now you go

[-] Madison420@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago

Then neither Hamas nor Hezbollah are terrorists by your definition.

[-] OccamsRazer@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago

Are you the same guy who sent me a link and called me an idiot for not reading it even though it supported my point?

[-] Madison420@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago

Couldn't tell you but you could certainly just look instead of trying in vein to misdirect.

[-] OccamsRazer@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago

It's just that I have no idea what you are talking about, you have been wrong several times, and refuse to clarify what you mean about anything. Basically this is a dead end conversation.

[-] Madison420@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago

Oop there you go again, it's not terrorism by your definition so you abandon your definition. Neat.

[-] OccamsRazer@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

I have no idea what you are talking about and I stand by my definition of terrorism.

Edit: also just noticed that you've been taking the time to down vote all of my comments. Lol.

[-] Madison420@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago

Then neither country is taking terrorist act.

Boo hoo? What's your point aside from crying about you and m that had no bearing on how wrong you are

[-] OccamsRazer@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago

Hezbollah is a terrorist group. I never said anything about Lebanon committing terrorism, only that they harbor the Hezbollah terrorists.

[-] Madison420@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago

By your definition neither Hezbollah nor Hamas are terrorist organizations.

I've said this iirc twice and you seemingly haven't figured out why though it is glaringly obvious.

[-] OccamsRazer@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago

October 7 was done by terrorists.

[-] Madison420@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago
[-] OccamsRazer@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago

Wait, are you saying that the people attacked and killed on October 7 were combatants, and not innocent civilians? That's your argument?

[-] Madison420@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago

I didn't say that at all, read your description. The reason it isn't terrorism by your definition (by literally side) is the same for all sides.

Think about it.

[-] spirinolas@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

You're so dumb you don't even see the big picture.

Let's ignore the fact that such an attack, using booby trapped civilian items, by Hamas or Hezbollah would make all the western media go absolutely insane. No, really, let's ignore it for now.

What Israel did was opening a Pandora box. They made it acceptable to use these methods to kill your enemy in this conflict. And Hamas, who is in a weaker military position, will love this type of unconventional war. They will learn from this and this is going to bite Israelis right in the ass. And lots of people won't care because they did it first.

Israel is not acting like the civilized one. If Hezbollah are terrorists Israel just proved they are no better.

What pisses me the most is how pro-Israel people don't see how they keep digging themselves deeper in their own grave. They have guaranteed that Israel will not survive on the long term. When the other shoe drops and the US are unable/unwilling to protect them, they are going to be eaten alive in a region where all they did was seed hate.

[-] OccamsRazer@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago

Those are the organizations behind October 7th attacks, bus bombings, synagogue bombings, etc where innocent civilians were specifically targeted. They are stated enemies of Israel and the United States, according to them. Why don't you take their own word for it? Quit stanning for terrorists who would happily blow up the bus you ride on with you in it, and then celebrate killing you.
