Wow. You think Trump is smart.
He doesn't have to be smart to use this tactic to get attention back to him. If he was smart, it would be a topic that would retain attention longer and not be so obviously narcissistic.
You do know there's such a thing as bad attention in an election, right? This is it.
If that's what he is doing he is going about it very poorly. Hating on the most popular and well liked American, with a notoriously passionate and dedicated fan base, is guaranteed to cause his campaign problems. This is going to cost him votes.
