I don't see how "You were ruined by your upbringing and don't deserve love" isn't a put down.
The person is talking about the dating pool they are exposed to. I don't see this as a personal comment about any individual person. I certainly wouldn't take it as a personal attack, and I don't think anyone else should either.
that's not what was said. everyone needs and deserves love, but nobody is entitled to a partner. those who have had harmful socialization need to go to therapy to make sure they don't end up hurting others. really, everyone should go to therapy. it's good for you.
