I just had another tire fail on me and I'm done with pneumatic bike tires. I need suggestions for what to replace my ebike's tires with. I'm considering another pneumatic tube and filling it with spray foam or maybe one of the expensive looking airless tire options but I've never done this before

Shimano says 760,000 11-speed Hollowtech road cranksets will need to be inspected for signs of delamination. The affected cranks — Dura-Ace and Ultegra models manufactured prior to July 2019 — can separate and break; the company has received reports of 4,519 incidents of cranksets separating, and six reported injuries, including bone fractures, joint displacement and lacerations. The cranks were sold by dealers as aftermarket and OE components from January 2012 through August 2023 for between $270 and $1,500.

I'm a relatively new mtber and I live about 1.5 miles from my closest grocery store. I'm looking for a cheap option to take my ass up to the store to grab some groceries as I don't want to take my mtb because i don't want to get it stolen and it's just not an efficient ride.

I don't need anything with storage, as I usually just buy enough to put in my backpack. I'm just looking for something reliable and that gets a decent glide per stroke.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi all,

I created this sub before the great reddit migration, when I was exploring kbin. Since then, reddit has exploded, and I'm running a kbin instance on top of lemmy and calckey.

Which is to say that I don't have time to do this community justice, and would love to hand it over to someone who will give it the love that it deserves.

If you're interested, please let me know.

Followed by a loud clang, chain skipping, and a general cacophony of metallic noise. Pretty exciting.

Anyways, anyone have experience/know what a local bike shop would charge to rebuild the wheel with new spokes?

Anyone else rocking a budget Hardtail? I have been riding fatbikes almost exclusively for 10 years. But after I sold my Salsa that had a 29x3 summer set. I was sort of jonesing for some light speed and a squishy fork.

Inspired by Berm Peak I got myself a Walmart Kent Trouvaille and went nuts replacing just about every component on the cheap. The whole build is only about 1k all in.

Highlights are a RS35Gold fork and Schwalbe tires tubeless. Fast rolling and light.

If a group ride states 14 - 16 mph for a 50 mile ride, what speed should I be able to maintain on my own to be able to participate? I'm new to road cycling and have never done a group ride.

I haven't gotten my bike yet, but I've sat through traffic a couple times over the course of this week and I've been thinking. Once I do get on the road with my bike, should I try to move around cars in heavy traffic?

I've seen people conflicted on whether to do this or not, and it is kind of illegal except in like California lol.

Has anyone tried installing barends upside down on a MTB to achieve a more aerodynamic position?

I live really near a downtown area and it's feasible to bike there. Problem is, there are no bike lanes. While I can 100% just ride on the road, a bike line would help a lot and most likely encourage others to ride on the road too.

How would I go about getting a bike lane? Even just a shitty painted lane.

ICYMI on The Paceline last week.I am not an economist. You know that, but I’m saying it now, because I’m going to remind you I said it in just a minute. This is what is known, in the rhetorical game, as a set up.So, it’s shaping up to be a tough year

I've been riding clip less all last season and until last week I decided to switch to flats. Last week I decided to switch to flats to see if I can improve ride comfort. I was surprised during my first ride. It felt weird and I maintain the same technique as if I was in clip less minus the pulling up the pedal. I noticed that first couple of rides I was struggling to place my feet, trying to find the "perfect spot" but then I forgot all about it and it became second nature. I didn't do long ride in flats yet but I rode bunch of smaller efforts during the week to combined 378km. I feel like my feet are changing positions during the ride depending on terrain and my saddle position (going up, down or during standing). I believe this change of position allows better comfort. Does anyone have similar experience or its just my bias or poor bike fit?

I'm a ball of nerves because I've never actually gone 120km before, and I'm worried about my bike, and I'm worried about not being able to maintain the 20km minimum speed. I'm going to bed now to get a good nights rest but here's to grinding it out on the bike! See y'all on the other side!

I made the most of the cool weather here in the Bay Area to grab a gentle coffee ride. Just over 6 miles of pleasant riding to keep me sane.

I'd like to get more into biking since the area that I live in is semi walkable. Where should I start and what should I look out for?
