The latest macOS Sonoma beta can be installed on your Mac through the Software Update mechanism in System Settings. macOS Sonoma also brings Apple TV-like screen savers to the mix. For the last 39 years, PostScript has been at the heart of the Mac, bringing desktop publishing, fonts, and the LaserWriter and other printers. It has been removed from Sonoma.

Just found this the release candidate and haven't really seen it mentioned anywhere.

If you go into Reminders and select list > Show Lift Info

there is now a List Type setting that can be set to 'Shopping'. If you do that, the contents of the list will automagically organise themselves under sub-headings - e.g, in my case

• Beverages
• Dairy, Eggs & Cheese
• Deli
• Fruit & Veg
• Household items
• Spices & Seasonings

... etc

These headings are dynamically created. Its quite night and saved me a bit of time on my weekly shop.

I haven’t really seen this reported anywhere, but if you go to a list’s option in Reminders, there is now list-type option. Choose ‘shopping list’ and iOS will group your list contents under sub-headings - vegetables, meat, dairy, snacks, household items, wines, beers & spirits etc.

Quite cool and certainly speeded up my weekly shop.

I've just been giving it the old college try to see if I can get a proper workflow going with it.

I teach, so I often have a lot of apps open for research/reference, lesson planning/preparation, as well as messaging services and other various apps.

I keep Apple Numbers full-screened in a space to the left, where I maintain a Grade/Schedule/Planner "book". I have Affinity Publisher 2 full-screened to the right, where I make prints/handouts for my classes.

On my desktop in the center, the stages (app sets) I keep are dedicated to...

• a single instance of Safari for lesson research (and procrastinating on Kbin)
• all my chat applications (iMessage, WhatsApp, etc)
• multiple finder windows to find, manage, and organize materials and resources I require to prepare new lessons every week.
• both my email client (spark) and calendar (FirstSeed).
• occasionally Spotify, if I need some music to help me focus.

If I didn't have stage manager, I would have been using a similar setup across around 2-3 desktop spaces and some full-screened apps. My "home" desktop in the middle, with reference-based stretching apps leftward, production-based apps stretching rightward, and my entertainment-based apps out on the fringes. This worked really well for me in the past, but stage manager has actually made things smoother for me, since I'm doing a lot less swiping around. (Yes, Mission Control was ideal for reaching more fringier desktop spaces, but when you're in the habit of just quickly swiping between 1-3 key desktops, it gets easy to forget how "far away" some of the other desktops are.)

Currently, my two biggest wishes for Stage Manager are...

1. that we could save stage presets so I could launch mine quickly with a Siri shortcut, and save a LOT of organization time after a restart.
2. that there were more comprehensive keyboard shortcuts specifically for navigating stages rather than individual apps. (There might be, but I haven't found a clear guide anywhere since most publications are more interested in the fact that Stage Manager exists than how to make it useful.)
3. a greater number of stages, with the ability to scroll through them and pin favorites to the top.

(I'm still on Ventura, so if these features were added in the betas, I wouldn't know.)

Has anyone else been discovering ways in which Stage Manager on Mac as worked out for them?

The macOS 14 Sonoma betas and release candidate contain a bug that causes the firewall to not filter traffic correctly. As a result, our app does not work.

The AirPods Pro 2 are not the only thing that received an update. Apple has also said that the EarPods can also be purchased with the USB Type-C. Another thing that you can do is charge your AirPods using your iPhone 16 by simply connecting the cables on each end and beginning charging. It is not quite like the reverse wireless charging that we see, but it definitely is going to be faster than charging wirelessly.

Apple has finally brought the Dynamic Island to the iPhone 15 models, The devices are now a step closer to the 'Pro' models. The iPhone 15 features a 6.1-inch display while the iPhone 15 Plus comes with a 6.7-inch display. On the back, the iPhone 15 models now come with a frosted glass finish similar to the iPhone 14 Pro models with a contrasted camera plateau. The matte finish also brings the iPhone 15 a step closer to the 'Pro' models in terms of looks.

The devices also come with an upgraded camera system that matches the likes of the iPhone 14 Pro models. The iPhone 15 now features a 48MP camera similar to the 'Pro' models. The new camera system opens doors to 1x and 2x optical zoom modes alongside the 0.5x ultra-wide angle mode. The iPhone 15 models also feature a new portrait upgrade with a synthetic bokeh effect. This will aid in better low-light performance. Furthermore, the portrait mode would be automatically enabled in the main camera mode.

In terms of design, the Apple Watch Series 9 features the same chassis as the Series 8. The edge-to-edge display is now double the brightness of the Apple Watch Series 8, reaching all the way up to 2000 nits. Additionally, the display can also go as 1 nit if you want to save battery life. Externally, the wearable is pretty similar to the Series 8 but carries a plethora of upgrades on the inside.

The Apple Watch Series 9 comes with a brand-new S9 chip, a major upgrade from the S8 chip on the Series 8. The S-series of chips for the Apple Watch has remained more or less unchanged since the S6 chip on the Apple Watch Series 6. The S9 chip features enhanced computational and graphical performance thanks to the 5.6 billion transistors. According to Apple, the chip is 60 percent faster than the S6 chip with a 2 times faster neural engine.
