It's going to be interesting to see how this affects market expansion to, as you mentioned, audience that currently don't have rigs or consoles.

Im in this thread's op shoes: My PS5 is still rolling and so is my Switch that I've bought during COVID. Even my shitty laptop plays the strategy game Remakes that I would rather play there. I've got backlogs on all these devices, on PS5 even some physical ones. They could stop making games and I'd have enough to do for a while. So if you're in that kind of position right now you wouldn't notice the price increase. However, if you're now entering the market it's obviously bad timing, especially in PC gaming.

I just hope they're not pumping out a new PlayStation anytime soon. Let's get some more well optimized games there instead.

Well eventually someone has to consume something for all of this to make sense, no?

Also isn't this more the result of unhinged capitalism without any real workers pushback?

There was always a reason, why I mostly buy Physical on PS5. At least in 15 years I can still play day one versions of all those games :D

I have my mail on a smaller email server with pretty strict spam filters. The epic games 2nd factor emails take a while to get through to me for some reason, so I'm in the same position as you. Tried to switch to the account email to my Gmail account, but they denied the request. So yeah, definitely not going to buy anything else from them, as they're not very helpful.

Agree that for people without a charging box at home the advantages might be reduced atm, but having more home owners buy EVs, requesting better charging infrastructure and potentially reduce costs in public charging stations could also pave the way for more acceptance.

To your point regarding providers at charging stations: I've only seen the situation in Germany and it's indeed very inconvenient and I don't understand how we ended up in that situation. Also I don't understand how the prices are that much higher than electricity at home? Why can't you just not use your credit card for payment?

It's going to be interesting to see how their new EVs to be released this year are going to perform. I think something like the T-Cross ID and smaller EVs could really hit a nerve if pricing is OK and the issues around gas prices would prolong throughout this year. I hope people get fed up and start to see advantages of EV and every new model, no matter which brand, could help with this.

I guess then we agree? Not many people can afford dedicate devices for just one use case, so a PC, in most instances will also be used for other use cases than gaming.

Thanks for the reasons for dedicated gaming distros, I wasn't aware of those.

I also don't get it. How many people realistically only use their desktop PC for gaming and what's the benefit of using a "gaming" distro if the same can be achieved with minimal amount on a more versatile distro?

You won't like Vietnamese coffee then. I'm open to it, but in very small amounts. It's very sweet and they add lots of condensed milk. In the end, it doesn't really resemble coffee that much.

In had the same feeling with Demon Souls, which is optimized for PS5. I really just don't find the combat interesting at all.

I think there's a place for those games when I don't have means to get other games though.
