i dont think that electoralism has to be seen as valid, to see voting in an electoralist system and pushing for reforms as valid tactics.

ofc i do not think that reforms and elections will liberate us. i think it is foolish to use voting as our only or even primary tactic. but i think it can improve things or at least slow down our opressors. it can give us more breathing room to do the things that will actually lead to liberation.

i know that it feels bad to participate in a process and a system that you despice and consider illegitimate, but i dont think there are actual downsides to doing it other than that bad feeling.

i dont say this to demonize non-voting. i just want to explain why i see voting as a valid tactic and make people reconsider their views or maybe make me reconsider my own view :3

gender in german is absolute ass. i know other languages are worse but still >>:c

objects are gendered between masculine, feminine, and neutral, without any apparent pattern.
humans (and basically all nouns for them) are ofc also gendered but only as masculine and feminine (except some few exceptions like baby and girl) because ofc the neutral form is only for objects and animals and would be obectifying on humans... so oficially german has no gender neutral 3rd person pronouns (neither singular nor plural) and when it does need them, it just defaults to the masculine pronouns, because men are ofc the default.

now there are language reforms happening, trying to create new gender neutra noun suffixes, by merging the existing suffixes but ofc even this small addition has ben turned into a manufactured outrage for conservatives, reactionaries, and really anyone who doesnt belive there is a patriarchy.

no one outside of queer or radical leftist communities is even aware of the existance or capable of the usage of gender neutral neo pronouns (the only kind there is, other than the reclaimed neutral form).

this shit makes me so pissed whenever i think about it.

i think the star wars fandom is a great case study of how right poppulism works.

star wars fans have always been hating on new stuff and in many cases the negative feelings are semi justified (looking at the prequels, clone wars, christmas special, ...)

but blaming capitalism is complicated, and while the quality of star wars media hasnt changed much, it now has a diverse cast and scapegoating disliked minorities is easy.
