Better than Firefox being blocked in Russia. Addons can be added from files anyway.
This. Nowadays people mostly buy TVs when their old ones break. There's no marginal improvement. The industry is here to stay, but its high growth days are in the past.
I suspect a lot of CSAM searches come from underage users themselves

I think people misunderstand what BlackRock does. It's a proxy for other investors. Investors all around the world buy assets, produced by BlackRock and BlackRock routes that money into corresponding shares/bonds/real estate, etc.

I think this has been the norm in asian cultures since way before covid.
Suppressing different views on a platform doesn’t make them go away, it only radicalises them. The only real, long term solution is debate and persuasion.
Good thing that what they are building is super transparent, open source and distributed. That critical post wasn’t even deleted.
As long as that remains the case, I’m happy that Lemmy is a place where you can find all kinds of views represented.
