I'd rather be 50 get money old in 2024 than be 2024 get money old in 50?

... What?

First, check https://meshmap.net/ to see if anyone is around. If not, you can be the first (it just will be very quiet).

Next look for a device. I'm partial to this one: https://www.seeedstudio.com/SenseCAP-Card-Tracker-T1000-E-for-Meshtastic-p-5913.html - just make sure whatever you get it's spec'ed for your region.

Then just download the Meshtastic app on your Android or iOS device and you're set.

In case anyone was curious, these are the boundaries:

Either that or hyper violence. I'm getting Doom vibes for some of the fighting.

Actually... "Doom, but with mutants" could be interesting.

I'm still waiting for my Soros check for protesting in the first administration.

Looks like both of my issues are on the boost client. Switching to Summit appears to resolve them.

Hi folks,

I was using Lemmy for the better part of two years and thought I'd come over to piefed and see what's up. A few things puzzled me and I'm hoping this is the best place to ask.

  1. It seems all top level comments are locked for replies - is that a server thing? A federation thing?
  2. Scrolling through All, the content just... stops. I'm using the Boost client (maybe that's why?). I get it if I'm sorting by top hour - there's only so much posted per hour. But it's the same for Hot, Scaled, Active, etc.

Edit: looks like both of these are issues with the Boost client. Switching to Summit on Android resolves both.

Thanks for the help!

So he definitely didn't write that, right?

Is this an It/Derry Girls crossover? Because I'm here for that.

Yup, another vote for brother laser printers. If you're worried about them applying updates that add DRM to toner cartridges, but you still want network printing you can do one of two things:

  1. Give the printer a static IPv4 address and block egress from your router with a firewall.
  2. Give it a static IPv4 address but give it a non-functional gateway (e.g. if your gateway is 10.0.0.1, make the printer's gateway 10.0.0.254)

Heck, do both if you're paranoid.

Either way it's not getting updates unless you manually change things or download the firmware updates on your Linux box and apply it that way.

Do you like "so bad they're good" movies? Pick any one of these (some even border on legit good):

  • Rad (1986)
  • Miami Connection (1988)
  • Voyage of the Rock Aliens (1984)
  • Surf II (1984)
  • Cool as Ice (1991)
  • Double Trouble (1992)
