Given the number of upvotes and comments on this post, I think there's definitely an appetite for it if you wanted to create it on Lemmy World. If you do create one, I'm happy to try to post things on it, and get the ball rolling.
Well spotted, I've updated the headline accordingly.
Thank you, that really made my day! As much as I want to change the world, I do also love a croissant, and those two things aren't mutually exclusive. After all, several of those bakeries - E5 Bakehouse and The Dusty Knuckle - are involved in programmes helping refugees and prison leavers.
What sort of functionality are you looking for? I've tried Wanderer, which integrates with Strava and Komoot.
As the article states, lots of people in the community cared for her when she was alive, and took the time to speak to her, and help her out.
It's rather simplistic to say that if people cared then she wouldn't be homeless. The government needs to build more affordable social housing to end homelessness.
Thank you for the suggestion. I guess in the scope of Lemmy maybe it's a little bit niche, but the running community in the UK is growing and growing, so there's definitely the community for it, just not on Lemmy at the moment.
Thank you! If I do end up creating one, I would like it on Feddit UK, so would I need someone such as yourself to create it for me?
So I've thought about this and what I would like to have is a UK focused running community that exists outside of Instagram, which currently is the dominant place for running content, particularly running crews. I'm quite active in the London running crew scene and there are things like shakeout races, community events that only get posted about on Instagram and I would love to share those outside of Instagram.
I'm thinking something like the hashtag #UKRunChat, but as a Lemmy community, that I would happily help moderate and manage.
As I understand it, not all instances have this feature enabled and some of them have limitations about how many posts you can import, but it's been a few months since I did my import.
What about UK politics?
Great suggestion! I have run Valencia a few times, and it's a great course for a PB. However, it sells out very quickly!
