He didn’t know Belloq was there until after he had robbed them.
Where do you get that he hired them?
The opening scene is them discussing that the tribe would kill them just for being in the area, and then Belloq taunts Jones saying he can’t warn them that he’s scamming them because Jones doesn’t speak Hovitos. No where does it say he hired them.
Never played Escape Velocity, but Endless Sky was fantastic. Both the main quest lines had fantastic stories, especially the first one.
It’s certainly a unique feature.
Hard to say at this point. This early testing was on cells in a petri dish. It will take a lot of study to convert this to a treatment on living humans and determine the best time to intervene.
He had some great episodes, but the swing from Hartnell-like curmudgeon to guitar-wielding goofball didn’t really hit for me. It felt like they were trying too hard to make him seem cool. Capaldi himself is fantastic though, especially his stint on Torchwood.
I like Moffat and his obsession with kudzu time plots.
I’m on my first watch through of Old Who and gotta say, 4 is a little overrated. I’d currently rank 11 > 10 > 2 > 4. Then IDK, 12 or 15.
Adaptation, because it’s more Nic Cage!
Seth Rogen is playing Napoleon, the dad character in the scene.
But yeah, the tone doesn’t seem right based on that clip.
Depends on the function.
Forum comment chains should always be top to bottom within the same chain. But for live chat, both top to bottom and bottom to top are acceptable.
It doesn’t. You said Belloq hired them to be his personal army, which paints the Hovitos as complicit in working against their own self-interests. As in, they were the betrayers of their own people and were selling out to Belloq for some cash.
But no, the reality is both Jones and Belloq were out to screw them: Jones by directly robbing them, and Belloq by first scamming them and then robbing them. Both were being imperialist and the Hovitos were the victims.
