Oh I thought you wanted to sync Mastodon with Lemmy/kbin. Sorry misunderstood 😅

You can, actually. From your Mastodon account, just mention occult@lemmy.blahaj.zone in your message and it'll appear on this Community. I made a test post here: https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/post/108083

Yes, that's a peculiarity of federating with new servers. Once you subscribe to the community through your home server, you (and everyone else in your server) will start to see the new posts in that community.

Calckey is similar to Mastodon, but more... fun and quirky. Both are compatible - Calckey users can follow and talk to Mastodon users and vice versa. Check out my profile to see what it looks like. Signup is easy (no email required), and you can always stop using it if you don't like it :)

The cool thing is, if you already have a Mastodon or Calckey account, you don't need Lemmy or kbin. Just search for "occult@lemmy.blahaj.zone" (or any other community) and click Follow. You can then upvote, share, comment from any of these services because all of them talk to each other.

Added! If possible, can you write a description for your community? Will be easier for potential members to know what it's about. I've written a very brief placeholder for now.

Sounds like a really good compromise. "Rediquette" says it's only to discourage spam and posts that add nothing to the conversation, but in practice, basically everyone uses it as an "I disagree" button. Gets used as a tool to discourage dissent and silence the actual unpopular opinions.

That's probably because of how federation between servers works (90% sure). If nobody else in your instance was following @calckey@lemmy.blahaj.zone before you, it won't show you the older posts. Once there are new posts in that sublemmy (is that the word?), you should start to see them.

Following @calckey@lemmy.blahaj.zone seems to be working on my end with the latest Calckey RC. So this might be a temporary error or a federation issue
