Ah crap, it just reminds me of Windows Vista.

Also, having buttons and controls on transparent backgrounds makes things harder to read / discern.

The the lock screen however is a nice Apple-esque touch.

I agree, it's not a fix. However it's also not just "calling them extremist". It's an official classification not just something haphazardly mentioned in a speech.

The move, announced Friday by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV), means that the AfD is no longer merely under suspicion. The agency says it now has definitive evidence that the party works against Germany’s democratic system.

A 1,000-page internal report, according to German public broadcaster ARD, underpins the decision, citing violations of core constitutional principles such as human dignity and the rule of law.

The new classification doesn’t ban the party, but it allows German authorities to intensify surveillance, including the use of undercover informants and monitoring communications, under judicial oversight.

It's great to hear recommendations of European brands but posting ads and framing them as "honest" irks me out a bit. It's still an ad and posted without any context or personal insight to accompany it.

Because they are legally obligated to mention it?

I thought it would be nice to hear about everyone's favourite European content creators. (Not for self-promotion)

Platform doesn't matter but if you know a good channel on peertube etc. even better.

How is this relevant?

Content creators often discuss and review products and services. They are the first stop for many people when they are looking for information about something. I think it's important to grow viewership for European content creators which in turn would grow demand for more EU wide product reviews etc.

More than a commercial point-of-view – news, travel tips, culture and just daily life are things we should conciously share and take an interest in here in Europe. Again, build an EU wide viewership and a feedback cycle for European content.

So who do you follow? Who's your local authority in insert hobby here?

These come to mind in addition to the ones mentioned:

Ortlieb (e.g. roll top, weatherproof, biking)

Freitag (recycled, fashion, expensive)

Lundhags (hiking brand, like fjällräven)

Also these (no personal experience):

WAYKS

Thanks for making the post! I'm sure many will find it helpful.

Myself I'm inclined to trust old school (f)oss projects much more than these new "privacy focused" solutions that seem to have the half life of a fart.

I'll probably stick with a firefox fork for now, there's plenty of them and it allows me to keep all of my addons and configs.

I would like two search engines displaying results side by side whenever I do a search. There's so much empty space on a wide screen display anyway.

Maybe I should check if there's an addon for this...

I'm always looking for the smallest linewidth and the hit-tec-c .25 has been my favourite so far. The Jetstream is new to me as is the Kleid notebook - looking foward to trying them out!

How about you? Any favourite super fine lined writing instruments you like to use?

What type of potato did you use? I find the startchier varieties work best. When oiled meticulously they get crispy everywhere.

Mind you, I find them a hassle too.

  • Good quality product
  • Suddenly gets popular
  • Ramp up production
  • Expand product range
  • Quality is now shit
  • "Anon have you heard of X, they're amazing!!!!!!!!"

(Edit: sorry, I get frustrated by trends)

There are apps that show teletext which, acording to some, are quite popular. It does somehow fit into a retro scifi aesthetic too if one's into that kind of thing 😄
