Making games is hard. But that doesn’t stop the thousands upon thousands of talented developers who put in good time to bring their dream game ideas to life. One of those developers is Klub Kofta Studio, a one-man “club” who recently put out their non-traditional tower defence title ‘Operation Octo’, which derives some heavy inspiration from everyone’s favourite lawn defence title ‘Plants vs. Zombies’. Operation Octo has received plenty of positive traction and fans have expressed how much they love the game to the developer, which in turn helped shape the game into the way it is today.

Recently, I had the chance to ask Klub Kofta Studio about themselves, making games (particularly this game about octopuses, of course), and what their thoughts are on the industry as a whole. You’ll find that transcript below and hopefully, you get an idea about how the squid legs are made.

Shrine's Legacy Review (www.dualshockers.com)

Shrine's Legacy takes pretty clear influence from classic SNES-era 16-bit RPGs, with a fun blend of Zelda-style puzzles and action-based combat. Fortunately, it does an admirable job of using that inspiration to create its own identity, and doesn't rely too much on the nostalgia of your youth. The combat does feel a little stiff, while the magic and jewel system is unnecessarily complicated. But even so, if you're looking for an action RPG that scratches that retro itch, Shrine's Legacy is definitely one worth diving into.

Street Fighter One M.U.G.E.N Remake.

Another mugen Street Fighter game. This time, it is a remake of original very first Street Fighter game, simply called Street Fighter 1, that is also known in home ports as Fighting Street.

Originally, when original game was released back in the days by Capcom, it was literally broken and unplayable. Fighting system was unresponsive, controls were uncomfortable and the game itself didn't had any character to play as. You could only play as Ryu in 1 Player mode, and if you play in 2 players mode, then you could play as Ken, and that's it. And the soundtrack... well, most of it was just a mess of the sounds, that could make your ears bleed.

And so now, after many years, fans decided to bring back very first Street Fighter game, using mugen engine, but they decided to fix everything that was broken. And thus we have this here. A, almost perfect, remake of original Street Fighter 1 from the arcade days, but for the PC with everything been fixed. Fighting system is now feel to that of Street Fighter 2. Controls are now responsive and uses 4 buttons control + movement buttons. And most importantly, you can now play as all of the Street Fighter 1 characters in many different game modes! Each characters also has now two super moves, that uses a super metter, similar to that from Super Street Fighter 2.

But what are the playable characters? Well, it is Ryu, Ken, Retsu, Geki, Lee, Gen, Joe, Mike, Birdie, Eagle, Adon, Sagat and a bonus guest character Cody from Final Fight game. The stages are the same from original game too, including one new for Cody.

The soundtrack got fixed too. The game now uses a PC Engine CD soundtrack, that sounds a lot better, than that mess from original arcade version. So now, your ears will be in full comfort, as you listening to the updated soundtrack.

The only problem that this game, probably has, is it's AI that becomes very anoying at the end. But, i managed to beat this game as Ryu one time, an a key to beating it is been agressive towards AI and, most importantly, develope your own strategy and combos that you gonna use against it. But yeah, if you never played fighting games, or if you are not very experienced fighting games player, then you gonna have troubles, fighting against AI in this game.

So yeah, if you ever wanted a improved and fixed original Street Fighter 1 game, then here it is. It is free, so grab it and go have fun.
