Hello all,

Hubzilla version 11.4 was released recently, now has a new docker image built and should be ready for use.

On a technical note, if your setup involves connection pooling regarding your database, you will need to set system.pdo_emulate_prepares to true within your htconfig.php. The 11.4 release of the docker image, has the appropriate line in the htconfig.php commented out, for your convenience; naturally if you edit your htconfig in other ways (CLI, etc) that will still work, as well. Whichever way you choose to deploy your instance, you have options available to you.

If you are unsure about connection pooling, techbuzz has a great article on the subject, that you can access via the link at the end of this post.

Special thanks to the Hubzilla devs, and contributors for their ongoing work.

You can find their work at: https://framagit.org/hubzilla/core

Please review the new release at: https://framagit.org/hubzilla/core/-/releases

And lastly, within the next hour or so, the docker image will be ready to go at: https://hub.docker.com/r/dhitchenor/hubzilla

I hope this finds you all well; please stay safe.

EDIT: Here is the TechBuzz Online article that I mentioned earlier https://techbuzzonline.com/database-connection-pooling-guide

If prosecutors proceed, the Taliban investigation will effectively be split from a broader Afghanistan inquiry looking into alleged war crimes committed since 2003 by Afghan National Security Forces, the US military and CIA personnel, in addition to the Taliban and the Islamic State-Khorasan Province (IS-K) group.

The move is likely to raise questions about whether the court is seeking to ease tensions with Washington by signalling that it will no longer pursue allegations against US forces and their allies.

The chamber's communication came days after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio threatened to "dismantle the ICC, brick by brick", in remarks referencing the court's 2020 decision authorising an investigation into alleged crimes committed in Afghanistan.

General Motors has laid off more than 1,000 workers at its Factory ZERO assembly plant in Detroit while simultaneously introducing 50 AI-powered collaborative robots to the production line.

At the union’s 39th Constitutional Convention in Detroit, UAW President Shawn Fain warned, “We are in a fight for humanity.”

Fain argued AI should improve jobs and productivity rather than leave workers behind.

The boxes are now the wheels of the kart, so it is no longer flat and boring. There was more fine tuning, like the kart is no longer floating, and off the origin. Here is the updated kart's repo: https://codeberg.org/provectus/HurdKart. The update will become a part of the official addon once it is approved.

Yes, but this formalizes things, possibly putting in place policies and SOPs and uniformly agreed upon structures

Not to mention, depending on the legal structure, tax benefits and cash pooling and other financial benefits

He shouldn't have had to steal it, you should have been a good humon and served it to him proper!

Why am I cross-posting .ml content?

I cross-post from .ml to the nearest relevant non-.ml comm to reduce the influence of .ml comms and indirectly, the instance as a whole, to make it an easier decision for other instance admins to defederate because one key reason I identified that admins don't want to defederate is because .ml still has some very large comms and some niche comms.

Megathread on the issue

Some highlights from the link:

"Don't worry guys, the Uyghur Genocide was REALLY just birth control! ~dessalines, .ml admin, dev https://lemmy.world/post/30580167

"See! nobody died IN Tiananmen Square, just AROUND it, so it doesn't count!!" ~ Davel, .ml admin https://lemmy.world/post/30673342

.ml admin, Nutomics continued transphobia https://lemmy.world/post/29222558 The original transphobic Comment from Nutomic: https://lemmy.world/post/18236068

"NK is actually good and anything counter to that is Western propaganda!" ~dessalines, .ml admin, dev https://lemmy.world/post/31595035

General negative sentiment to other instances who haven't "seen the way" yet ~davel, .ml admin https://lemmy.world/post/27426510

"If you don't support Russia then you just don't understand geopolitics" ~dessalines, .ml admin, dev https://lemmy.world/post/27352415

And so so much documentation on clear heavy handed censorship and bias also on the link. So much I can't even put them all here because this comment would be really long.

I believe the behavior of its admins (the main admins are Lemmy devs) does harm to the overall growth of the Lemmy-verse and maybe even the Thrediverse (since Lemmy kinda kicked off the Thrediverse) because of its association with the devs of Lemmy and their insistence to use .ml as their personal political platform to spread harmful propaganda

On the outside, bringing up Lemmy frequently leads to comments like "Lemmy? Isn't that the place with a bunch of tankies?" Or "Tried Lemmy, but found it full of pro Russia crap so I left". The best way forward from that I see is to either widely defederate from .ml like the rest of the Triad, or pressure them to put a fair and unbiased as possible admin team.

Half of these problems would be solved with a tagging system like on Reddit, then you could just block by tags

I'm pretty sure PieFed rolled out a tagging system, but clients haven't caught up yet
