If there are a lot of chapters I would upload to AO3 on a regular schedule, then people get to expect it. I don't know those other sites but if you want comments I would upload onto every site you like. And make sure to reply to each comment, you could also write a note: 'comments and advice welcome, I love getting comments' or something like that.

But remember it's about what you like to do, not what other people think. If you like writing, just write and let people comment or not. Sometimes people comment weeks/months/years later as once the fics are out there, they're out there for good.

I've been writing fanfic for about 15 years, comments have definitely declined over the years, it's not that our fics have got worse.

Hope this helps.

Do I get a cake by my name like they do on Reddit?

Oh dear, this is hype central with a load of presenters who have no idea what they're talking about. 🤣

But luckily, later on some of them proved they did know what they were talking about.

Whatttt's happeningggg?

At this rate, all riders will have arranged their seats for 2027 before 2026 has even started!

So, what 5 things are you looking forward to in 2026? It was hard to cut mine down to 5. Tell me your hopes for this year!

  1. Whether Marc Marquez can win his 10th title. (he and Valentino Rossi have 9 titles now, not 7. I’m not allowing Dorna to cancel their other titles) Will Marc dominate again or will he get injured or will another rider rise to challenge him?

  2. Pecco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin. I really hope they bounce back from their mental and physical health problems, I felt so sorry for them last year. They deserve a better 2026.

  3. Alex Marquez and Marco Bezzecchi. Can they do as well as in 2025 and make the battles interesting?

  4. Maverick Viñales. I am SO excited to see what he does this year due to his new partnership with Jorge Lorenzo. My head says nothing will change and he’ll fall out with Jorge. But my heart says Maverick will rise and after all these years battle for the title, hopefully with Marc.

  5. Pedro Acosta and Fabio Quartararo. Will these two finally live up to their alien reputation and fight for the title, or at least win lots of races?

+1. How on earth did I forget Toprak?!?🤦‍♀️ My right honourable friend below reminded me. I am looking forward to his riding and also his activities in press conferences etc. He seems to be a charmer, he brought sweets for his crew at the test and I think we could see some shenanigans with his team mates and other riders. But I've heard and seen very bad things about his Turkish fans e.g. threatening Bulega last season, so I hope we don't see any terrible situations this year...

Visit your local track (literature.cafe)

Just wanted to say that some guy online was advising that if we like MotoGP/ any motorcycling, to go to our local track and see it in real life.

We don't live near an official track, so I thought that wasn't good advice.

But then I thought 'what about Motocross?' I found a track 10 minutes drive away, parking was free, no entry fee either. So we went this morning and got our 'fix' of motor racing live in the 'off season.'

We used to travel to Thruxton/ Brands Hatch/ wherever but those were a long distance and expensive. So Motocross is in some ways better.

Does anyone else do this? If not, I highly recommend it. Make sure you wrap up warm though!

Not strictly MotoGP but we know who Iannone is and I have to say I'm impressed that he returned after his ban. I thought he would go off and start a modelling career instead! Or something.

This is so cute. From a boy to a man. He looks like he's wearing his school uniform with his first title, aged 17!

I took this directly from Reddit, thanks Reddit.

Sorry this is in Spanish. But lots of sources are reporting that Maverick has hired Jorge Lorenzo as a rider coach.

I noticed Maverick almost falling into the arms of Jorge on the rider parade at Valencia so I wondered what on earth that was about! Now I know.

I am really not sure about this development. Maverick is notoriously temperamental, Jorge is notorious for his schemes not working out.

But hoping for the best for both of them.

Edit: yes, it is true, here is their statement. It is very small writing, so it says:

"November 21, 2025 Maverick Viñales brings Jorge Lorenzo on board as his performance coach.

Maverick Viñales is opening a new chapter in his sporting project with the addition of Jorge Lorenzo as his performance coach. The goal of this collaboration is clear: Fight for the @motogp World Championship.

Lorenzo will work alongside Viñales on a continuous basis across three key areas:

• Physical and athletic preparation, with a strong focus on routines, training, and recovery tailored to the current demands of MotoGP.

• Strategic coaching, aimed at pressure and risk management, race consistency, and decision-making during critical moments.

• Technical-sport development, reinforcing race-weekend analysis and planning.

The collaboration will be supported by a team coordinated by Lorenzo and fully aligned with Viñales’ project, with the shared aim of achieving solid, sustainable progress in the medium and long term.

Maverick Viñales explains: “Bringing Jorge into this journey is a huge opportunity to learn and improve in every aspect. His experience and outside perspective will help us take confident steps forward. I’m starting this new stage with great motivation and excitement.”

Jorge Lorenzo adds: “Maverick has always had natural talent and great speed. My role is to accompany him, share my experience and knowledge, and help him reach his best version. I strongly believe that if we improve in each of the key areas, success will be inevitable.”

Feel free to add your picks, or discuss my choices.

  1. Marc Marquez. I was one of the people who was afraid his injuries were so severe that he would never ride again and reach the top level he used to. So I am extremely happy that he’s won his 9th title!

  2. Alex Marquez. He's been the overlooked younger brother for so many years, but look at him now! I’m so impressed with him taking second place in the championship. Two brothers winning 1st and 2nd place—it’ll be a long while til that record is equalled.

  3. Johann Zarco. Simply because of his win in Le Mans. What a fairytale race that was! A true legendary ‘underdog prevails’ story. I recommend reading David Emmett’s blog about it, ‘Ode to Joy’, it captures all our feelings about this race.

  4. Marco Bezzecchi. It’s been a pleasure to watch him mature as a rider and a person this year, and develop the Aprilia bike almost single handed.

  5. Francesco Bagnaia. This might be a surprising one but it’s about his character. People predicted when Marc joined Ducati, there would be arguments, psychological warfare, and a wall put up between garages. But instead he has been welcoming, gracious, mature, I don’t think he’s said a bad word about Marc.

Special mentions to:

  • Raul Fernandez (hope he regains his outstanding Moto2 form)
  • Pedro Acosta and Fabio Quartararo (for god’s sake put them both on top bikes so they can challenge Marc)
  • Fermin Aldeguer (Rookie of the year, keep on improving!)

Numpty of the year:

  • Franco Morbidelli. (I don’t need to explain why!)

The end of year awards gala if you want to see them all dressed up and looking good in evening wear!

This is amazing! Jose Antonio is well enough to ride on the parade lorry and be interviewed by Pol Espargaro!

It's a shame the camera didn't look at him during his interview though, it went to riders firing t-shirts into the crowd 🫤

During the pandemic I stupidly read some diaries of the people during the Black Death times. Those were pretty bleak. One of them wrote: I'm leaving some blank pages at the end of my diary. In case there is anyone left alive to fill them in.

He probably thought that was the last written thing sent from one human to another.

Hello, it seems I'm a month late. Well I joined Lemmy to avoid Reddit, I hope it will be much better here 👋

Thank you. I want to focus on this fediverse version of Reddit, not the actuall Reddit as that is unfriendly.

Thanks, I've only just joined and I thought I'd been chucked out already 😅

That looks good, I don't know anything about anime but I love to read plot ideas!

[-] WordNerd@literature.cafe 4 points 1 year ago

that is really not good at all. It's insane, actually.

Hello, I'm new here. 😊 I was just having a conversation about AI with someone, it seems now ChatGPT will remember everything we ever told it. That sounds scary to me...
