I think you might be on to something because in this generator "https://perchance.org/my-own-story-generator" the barrel loader option is completely broken. the imminent prompt does absolutely nothing.

I do use the enhanced version and its having the same issues. I wouldn't be here complaining and pointing out an issue unless i felt it was EXTREMELY warranted.

I get perchance is free, I really do. However if someone handed me a chainsaw that worked 15 percent of the time and the excuse they kept giving me for why its constantly broken was "oh i gave it to you for free." Yes i would complain about it.

So normally i just lurk. I'm not a coder but After this last model update i can't stay quite anymore.

So after heavy testing of well i dont know if its a new model because i see the same hickups the old model had when it was first introduced such as "Ozone, White knuckles, Raining," stuff like that which leads me to think its not a new model just somethings completely broken.

Anyways after heavy story generator testing i've noticed a few things.

The base story generator is completely broken. The beginning prompt does nothing for the first paragraph, No matter what you put in that line it will not listen to it for the first paragraph. This is a big deal because the ai needs that beginning context sometimes to help it build the world.

The default it seems is Arthur/Mr henderson, Which after testing also appears when there's no prompt at all for the story. So there's that.

Give an example here why thats bad, Say your story is set in the far future or way past. If the ai's first paragraph is about Arthur shining his vintage spoons the ai isn't going to understand you want the story to be about a cave man or a galactic warrior.

So enough about the bad's because there's more i can go into but here's some goods i have noticed. The goods here are few but lets go over them for fairness.

The ai does actually seem to understand scenes more then it used to. it actually can read back (sometimes) What is going on in the story.

It seems a little more intelligent on context. The OBSESSION with smells and pointless details seems to be a lot less with what ever is going on right now. The dialog is A LITTLE better not much but a little better.

End of it all what ever is happening over all is BAD. The story generators not just the base but almost ALL of them have been ruined by what is going on. That default problem isn't just an issue for the base its an issue for almost ALL of them i've been noticing. I'm going to include here proof for the dev if he actually reads this for whats going on

I've noticed good and bad about whats happening. Yes the model is actually remembering SOME stuff which is good, its actually reading back and able to get some context. Before it felt like you had to remind it what was going on every few paragraphs which got old real quick. The other good thing i've noticed is its not COMPLETELY OBSESSED with scents and smells anymore which got annoying really quick.

The bad and this is VERY bad is the Base story generator is completely broken. Whither that's a coding bug or something like that i dont know. What i do know is the story genetors have about a 15 percent in my experience of actually being on topic in the first paragraph. It keeps defaulting like nothing is in the written prompt, Which leads to Arthur/Mr Henderson, being the topic until it can correct which is VERY bad for the context. If the story thinks its about Arthur at the start instead of say Sam then its going to be completely confused alot of the time.

The other thing i've noticed is its inability to or sometimes refusal to actually include dialog, It will vaguely allude to dialog being said without actually including it. Another thing i'm noticing is grammatical errors, take this for example, "Hold the damn phone, it is ringing again," This is technically right but not how a normal human would actually speak. They would say "It's ringing again," not it is.

The goods of the model are their but the bads Very much outweigh any goods right now.
