The info I got back from Ruud in the ticket I submitted:

We are aware of the issues, and are currently waiting for the latest version (2026.1) of Friendica to be released as a docker image. We hope that upgrading will solve at least some issues, they have added some fixes especially for friendica.world :-) I hope they will release that in the coming days.

I hope so as well. The site is throwing nothing but errors for me today.

As a user, today has been particularly rough -- about 3/4 of the times I've tried to do something, I've gotten:

Internal Server Error Apologies but the website is unavailable at the moment.

or

503 Service Unavailable No server is available to handle this request.

or a partial load (content but styling messed up). The problem sometime clears up with just another reload of the page, sometimes it takes a while before the system will give anything different.

And, as previously, Notify services aren't notifying, so nothing is going outbound to other servers/nodes.

Since the problems a few days back, none of my new posts here have been processed by the Notifier. They all show "Notifier task is pending".

As I understand it, that means the post is not being passed beyond friendica.world to followers' servers out in the Fediverse, Diaspora*, etc. (Confirmed from a separate Masto account I have, which indicates I haven't posted since Sunday evening, though that's definitely not the case.)

I'm not sure if this is something that is still broken, is being left off because of other impacts, or just didn't get turned back on after whatever was done that cleared up the 503 (etc.) errors got fixed but ... can it be addressed?

Notifier doesn't seem to be active today, either.

On my side, I got lengthy 503 status periods multiple times during the day, among other errors (which I should have noted). It was the least available day in the past few months, from my interactions. By and large, friendica.world had been doing quite well; even with the occasional hiccups, I'd been thinking of asking whether we could get rid of the warning banner at the top. Yesterday argues otherwise.

The Notifier service also seems to have not processed anything of mine that did manage to get posted yesterday. All still show "Notifier task is pending."

Lacking any other answer, I will have to assume the function is broken -- which is a shame in having to manually re-contact subscribers after I start things up here, but apparently that's the way it goes.

I exported from my old Friendica site wist@my-place.social (via https://my-place.social/settings/userexport) and ended with a wist.account file downloaded.

I went to https://friendica.world/user/import, pointed to the wist.account file, and clicked the [Import] button. It pauses a moment, then comes back with the import screen again -- no error, no confirmation.

But as far as I can tell, wist@friendica.world has not been created. Or, if it has, I can't figure out how to sign in or reset the password.

Am I missing something obvious here?

Ugh. Yes, I meant my-place.social. Sorry.

Hi -- hope this is the right forum/mode to ask about this.

I am looking at moving my Friendica presence over to friendica.world, as the current server I am on, my-place.social, is closing down at the end of the year. I value Friendica for its robust editing interface and connection to both the Fediverse and Diaspora.

My question is about connectivity out from friendica.world. When I post something here, it looks like it sits in "Notifier task is pending" for quite some time, and this morning after 16 hours, a test post reads "Delivery is underway to remote servers 1/2".

If I am understanding that correctly, it seems like quite a lag and (not knowing who those remote servers are), not much in the way of connectivity. In contrast, my-space.social goes out to 50 servers in a matter of only several minutes.

Am I understanding this lag correctly? Is it tied to something about the current performance issues on friendica.world? Am I concerned about nothing?

Thanks.

~(Edited to correctly name the place I'm currently on.)~
