Say about Mamdani what you will. But he gets shit done. That's not his first win and more will follow I bet.

Imagine all politicians would only be half like that....

It was a joke and you make a lot of assumptions on someone you dont know.

I don't mind paper straws. I don't mind taking the train or public transport instead of a car or plane. I don't mind paying more for green energy. But I complain about the ultra rich not carrying their fair share. They do not care at all, even though their footprint is bigger than mine and yours combined will ever be, and that is very frustrating to say the least.

It was obviously a cynical joke.

Also, it's not about the straws per se - it's about that us everyday normies are being asked to change our ways to combat climate change and I'm totally in favor of that. We have to be more aware of our ways and where we can switch our behaviours to combat climate change.

But all it needs is an ultra rich dude flying around in his private jet or spend weeks on his yacht driving around and all our efforts become meaningless.

Change the little guy, for sure - but also grab the rich fucks by their balls as well. And so far nothing like that is happening.

Record breaking heat waves, record breaking storms in strength, flash floods, food shortages - all the good stuff.

Thank god we switched to paper straws and let the ultra rich use their private jets 5 times a day, or we would be really fucked.

God I hope Ladybird will work. I'm so done with Google. And the fact that Firefox is dependant on their money leaves a bad aftertaste, everytime I open a browser. Even though I use Zen.

Fingers crossed for Ladybird and a stable Alpha release in 2026 🤞

This is good, but it's already out of control. If you walk past a parked Tesla, just for example, you'll be filmed. If you walk past any public building, you'll be filmed. Public place? Damn right, filmed. As soon as you step out of your house, you're recorded. And despite all the promises made, I bet much more data lands on some obscure server farms or AI Data centers, than they exclaim.

Haha same, almost shat myself there for a second.

It's like the US intent is to be as unandearing as possible for this worldcup. They shot over the finishline after electing trump for a second time but you gotta hand it to them - they do a really good job in that area.

From being the shining star of liberty and democracy to a second tier wannabe dictatorship that seems to get a hard on by blocking certain people from entering to compete and work at the worldcup.... Bunch of clowns, seriously...
