I think English will change in a way that being “wrong” will be part of the language itself.

AI can learn a language, but can’t learn the unpredictability of communities shaped by memes. AI for example doesn’t know memes, because requires processes unable to be emulated via pure logic.

AI started to become good enough to be marketable.

A good chunk of current democracies are actually open market oligarchies.

People here don’t need to spot a joke because this is a meme community. We trade in jokes, we feel their spirit be free around us, a cloud of happiness.

And here you are, angry at the world for the world is sunny and your soul is a sea of thunders and anger. You call us foolish for being happy as you are, yourself here and now, the very foolishness you abhor. So much your color has drained you aspire of a monochrome happiness that is not tangible.

What a tragedy, as you have become a justice that feels not worthy of being called forth. Hilarious I dare say, your presence here, in a community of jokesters that play with sunshine in a sea of silence, while you are the island of darkness nobody sets foot upon.

Vacate now and you shall be spared the impunity of your own unamagnanimous figure.

My theory (very bad) is that the fediverse is the prelude of an internet so decentralized it will stop being useful to corporations.

The “upper web” will be corporate, ads, marketing and paid services. The “lower web” will be a series of semi connected networks that will loosely operate as a whole.

Maybe in 10~20 years, a physical new internet will be born, completely independent from the current one and untouched by companies.

The 144 characters limit. IIRC Twitter had the same limit because at the beginning you could post on your profile using SMS.

I remember when phones where an arm and a leg in price purely because of T9. Having a predictive dictionary in your pocket needed a lot of bread.

“Is for better cooperation and team cohesion” says the boss via videocall, the grainy image reflecting the limited signal reach of his third house build in the Alps slightly south of Geneva.

My cubicle, 9 hours per day, is smaller than his shoe cabinet, and each pair of shoes is presumably more than my yearly salary.

“Then why you are so afraid as to be one continent over?” asks one of the office workers, his eyes pissed. The Boss silences promptly the microphone before returning to speak as almost nothing happened: “I hope you have a great day”.

We say nothing. He knows. 20 pairs of eyes look at him through the webcam. A person in front shows both middle fingers, promptly reflected in the smaller viewport of the camera.
