As someone who has struggled with addiction to lust and pornography from a very young age, I'm disappointed by some of the reactions I'm seeing here.
Facts. Just talking to educated people today, it is clear that there is a major disparity in knowledge and understanding when it comes to technology.
And yeah. Download Tor for free and bada-bing bada-boom, your kid now has access to not only the entire internet, but also the actual dark side of the Internet. Which is arguably an even worse environment than just straight-up internet.
For now, the only real solution is good parenting. Which again, as you mentioned, is getting harder and harder.
Somewhat off-topic, but the general trend of anti-family sentiment in society troubles me for a number of reasons.
Based and kenel oops-pilled
I think everyone can agree that child safety is important. But the fact internet as it stands is not safe for kids is completely undeniable.
As always, however, censorship is not the solution, especially not if it's headed by government. I'm honestly not sure what the solution is.
Um... yes, I think that is technically and historically correct, but...
I'm personally a big fan of laws. I think good laws and the teaching of virtue is an important part of the construction of a good society.
What if, instead of perpetuating the narrative of diet culture and "healthy food" vs. "junk food", we worked harder to provide food for those who actually need food. What if, and hear me out here, we educated people on making healthy decisions and more importantly, maintaining a healthy, positive relationship with food and their bodies?
Finally, an actual joke. I thought we were on an internet-argument-cesspool sub.
I'm inclined to agree. People experiencing gender dysphoria deserve our love and respect, in the same way a person with low self-esteem or anxiety or an eating disorder deserves our love, support and respect.
For example, anorexia is an eating disorder where an individual has a hypersensitivity to the perception of their body, specifically its size weight. Weight bias is another topic for another time, but suffice to say that society has people convinced that they have much more control over their weight than they actually do. People naturally come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, and that's a good thing! Regardless, some individuals who struggle with anorexia believe that they are "too fat" and will try to limit their food intake in order to lose weight, often to an unhealthy degree.
I'm hoping that the next big social movement is a body acceptance and appreciation kind. The human body is an amazing thing. I hope we can learn how to better help people who experience gender dysphoria in the future and empower individuals struggling with their relationship with their body.
Wow, Nova can do all that?? I had no idea, that's super cool! I've been avoiding Nova since I learned that it'd been bought by some data company, classic internet rumour, but I might have to give that a shot!
I love Lawnchair! I've been using it for a while and if I don't find another alternative launcher, I'll probably just return to it. Or stock pixel launcher.
It really is. It's super clean and I love the gestures. I just wish I could put some widgets or shortcuts on the home screen, it feels kind of empty to me. Definitely at the top of my list.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
