Absolutely this. I used to think it was a generational thing but we had a friend near to retirement who stayed with us for a couple of years. Despite raising a child they had next to no idea how to cook bar heating something from a tin and microwave dinners. I mean they'd never cooked a baked potato before and was puzzled by how much we made things from scratch. Quite astounding.

I learned that I was fundamentally not wired for hot weather when I lived in Australia for a while. It was then that I realised I had clearly been a penguin in a former life (which explained the walk).

I'd take a look at universal blue; Bazzite, Aurora or Bluefin. I use Bluefin and tailscale is built in (you just have to login to your setup). They're atomic so they upgrade the whole image automatically (no faffing or bugging you) and apps are all flatpak. I get on great with it. Only caveat is it only supports relatively modern nvidia graphics cards. https://universal-blue.org/

Probably the lack of grifters. That halcyon time before the notion of being your own personal brand. Amazing amount of selflessness out there in the early days of connecting online. Yeah back when it seemed like it was all going to broaden horizons and democratise rather than link up all the hatred. OK I don't miss that sea of AOL floppies and later CD's or the pain of 28.8 modem but hey.

100% agree. It's a people thing rather than a site specific thing. Politics, for example in the social media arena attracts a certain combative behaviour from some who clearly feel passionately but who also feel that shouting down others is now the accepted norm rather than reasoned discussion though that's mostly where we are everywhere now.

I really racked my brains with this one and think mostly it would be to go back and see somebody just prior to becoming big to see the embryo performances at smaller gigs so maybe Early Kraftwerk or even Sparks. Also (and I can't believe I'm saying this as generally it's not my genre) Focus as part of the audience for the midnight special.

Lovely. I wonder if animals see a kind of aura when we're ill. They'll find a scientific explanation one day unless it's pure feline intuition.

Plans also include uninterrupted entry and exit to Central Station main entrance, with 'less clutter' for people going into the train station.
