I remember being a small child posting to forums I had no business posting to, asking obnoxious questions about building websites or talking in IRC.

I remember always expecting a response that wasn't very happy with me. You have to start somewhere right?

This is awesome. Choice is always king! Competition means better products. This is going to be fun.

I've seen you pop up twice now in the verse and I had to stop and tell you your username is awesome!!

Is anybody else running into this problem?

My federated posts are appearing in my timeline quite well, however I've noticed that significant portions of the comment section are not being carried over.

For example, I'll see a post on my instance with 13 comments. I'll click on the fediverse icon to take me to the original source and that has 43 comments. Where did those 30 comments go?

The worst part is, I can't seem to figure out a way to "force sync" or refresh the page to make sure all the comments are carried over. Because of this, I feel like I'm only getting part of the conversation and I'm unable to reply to comments that don't appear on my instance.

Does anybody have any solutions to this problem? It's literally my one huge issue I have with my own instance.

Feels like thats what a lot of people are experiencing right now. Super fun stuff!

Tbh I haven't watched much either. I just hopped on Disney+ this morning, hit play on the first episode available, and I haven't turned it off since. I like that this show has a lot of heart and family values, something I don't really see in TV today without being completely on the nose.

Mine was good! Spent the week working my first few shifts with my new raise in effect. Felt good to be doing the same job but making more money! This weekend I was pulling my hair out trying to get my Lemmy instance set up but I got it done and have been spending my Sunday enjoying it! Overall, pretty successful week. Can't wait for my next paycheck.

I think I've finally gotten to the point on here where I'm following all if not most of the communities I'm interested in that are poppin on Lemmy right now.

Currently just hanging out on my couch, re-watching early episodes of The Simpsons, and reading articles online like its 2009. There's something about browsing nothing but people speaking with no ads, no boosts, just all genuine conversations.

Anybody else feeling satisfied with their fediverse instances? Any favorite epsiodes of The Simpsons? :)

That looks absolutely amazing. Never seen an amp with quite that shade of wood finish. Great work.

Been pounding my head against the desk for the last TWO DAYS trying to get everything to work. Then you came along and solved all of my problems and it only took me 10 minutes to set up (mostly due to waiting on DNS to flush!)

THANK YOU SO MUCH for creating this, and PLEASE continue to maintain! I will gib coffees if need be along the way!!

I tried my best to use mastodon as a platform to post to lemmy/kbin but ran into a major problem: nested comments get lost to the ether, and there's no way for you to reply to them using the same account.

Because of this, and basically this alone, I decided to forfeit mastodon all together and opt for a self hosted lemmy instance. I just got it set up and running this evening and so far, I'm not looking back.

Might set up another mastodon instance later, but that's if I start to miss it.

I'm another worshipper of ubergeek's script! Literally went from pounding my head against my desk to setting up my brand new instance where basically everything worked!

I can ALWAYS jam to this. Thanks for sharing!!!

After a looooong day of trial and error and basically learning all of this from scratch, I am happy to say I have finally gotten my own instance up and running!

HUGE credits goes to @ubergeek77@lemmy.ubergeek77.chat for creating a script to install Lemmy in just a few simply commands. Definitely reccomend checking out his work if you're brand new to all of this: https://lemmy.world/post/249889

Although I ended up taking the "easy way out", I do want to take a moment to thank all of you for taking the time to comment and contribute time to help me sort out this problem. This is such a warm and welcoming communtiy and I really appreciate it. Cheers from SoCal!
