I can't wait for it to die off. My editor decided to spontaneously fucking change my SQL query for me the other day. It made up utter nonsense, completely unprompted. Fucking hate all this garbage.

Think it’s a little bit of both. They benefit greatly from people being addicted to their product, and “fixing” a neural network is fucking hard.

No shit. Famine has been a policy decision for decades at this point. We're past the point of scarcity where anyone would ever need to starve, so starvation in today's world is a direct result of other people's decision to have them starve. It's evil.

But that's alright. Those very same people are ensuring that times of scarcity are returning.

Because it's an extremely nuanced topic.

Like sure, at face value eliminating let's say HIV from being inherited or transmitted (and ultimately eradicate the disease) would be excellent, I don't think anyone would ever argue against that, but that's not so much the case with everything.

Say, eliminating dwarfism, or deafness, or blindness (mind you these are umbrella concepts and not a single thing) might look good on paper, but there are entire languages, cultures, and communities out there that people created, which would be lost should the need for them cease to be.

Then who decides what should and shouldn't be cured? What about neurodivergence? Homosexuality? Personally if someone says that they can "cure" homosexuality or gender dysphoria, I bristle. I don't want anyone to "fix" my trans friends, because they're not broken. Take it further, what about race? Should we fix that too? We could eliminate racism altogether.

There are a lot of minorities out there already being marginalised, and it's not exactly exciting to see the idea of us being literally bred out of existence.

I think the core idea of wanting to "cure all disease" and whatnot is ultimately a good one, but as the saying goes, the road to hell is paved with good intention.

Of course Bavaria would.

I don’t think that’s equivalent. An attorney isn’t obstructing justice, they are a crucial part of the system, there to ensure that the accused gets a fair trial and that any possibility of them being innocent is taken into consideration. Even if they’re defending an obvious criminal.

These people aren’t part of the justice system. They’re blocking the release of information surfaced under a criminal investigation because they know that its release will impact them negatively, and they’re already not exactly popular.

Not at all. The 13-year old is a hormonal brat that doesn't have the years under their belt. They're still growing and learning how their actions affect others. They should know better, and often do, but we give leeway to children because fucking up is part of growing and learning.

The men and women currently in charge have no such excuse.

And means mallard in Swedish. Rum means room or space. Andrum also means “room to breathe” so it has this really fitting double entendre you see in some IKEA names, in the sense that it’s “space for your bird” and also “gives you room to breathe.”

Another good example is the bookcase BILLY. It’s a masculine name, which that genre of furniture carries, but it also sounds like “billig” meaning inexpensive or affordable.

I've gotten so insanely tired of all the random bullshit this vaguely human shaped sack of refuse, and all his cronies keeps spouting. They say inane shit, and that gets blasted left and right, while they do all sorts of underhanded evil bullshit behind the curtain of nonsense they just put up.

While we're laughing at idiotic ideas like "curing autism" and "paracetamol causes autism" we're playing right into their fucking hands. This is the nonsensical "4D chess" they're talking about. It's not even funny at this point.

When I set up Navidrome I had no idea jellyfin could do music too. Pretty happy with them separate though. Not for any particular reason, they both do their jobs really well.

You kidding? Google Chrome has the biggest market share. It’s the window to the internet for many. Control that and you practically control the internet as a platform.

I think it fits. It’s about as agile as a brick, and Microsoft tries really hard to make it look friendly and approachable.
