I wanted to buy a drills to make a hole in a wall, nothing special, but was interested if I could find anything made in EU and it was so hard!

Firstly I looked for polish (local to me) producer - there is none at the moment. So I tried Germany - traditionally industrialized, sure there must be a lot od options. Turns out it is really difficult to find information about production online - basically if it is not provided, it’s produced in china. I even found some small family business from Germany with photos of it owners etc but had to find a photo of back of the item in peoples’ reviews to confirm - it’s producing tools in China.

This is what I settled with - company that produces most of their tools in China but have special line of items produced in Germany with clear information on it. So I succeeded but it was pretty disappointing experience.

Work in progress on Miku! (media.piefed.social)

Hi, just wanted to share progress on my first project after I finished donut tutorial 4 years go :D
I have just one issue right now - I think I've done face the same size as on the pic but on 3d view it looks like it's too small? It's not touching hair on the side of the head, I would probably leave it like that but maybe some of you know better how to fix that :)
Also any tips regarding project like that are welcomed!!!

Yes - it’s blik contactless which was developed with Mastercard - it’s sometimes visible on receipts. but perhaps wide adoption might motivate Blik to develop their own system without USians.

I use always for online payments - super convenient. Recently started using it for self-checkouts at grocery shops - unfortunately much less convenient than card: i need to take out phone, confirm transaction, write my pin compared to pay with apple wallet with faceid its much slower. There is also blik contactless for android phones but it’s developed with mastercard.

Yes this is super important to use these accounts!! My stocks are bought with it, but I am still able to choose from multiple ETFs here :)

Sound like a cool idea! I will definitely look into esg funds. The migration to european fund provider was also something I was planning to do.

Hi, since there is no community dedicated for investing from EU out there I will ask here!

How do you approach investing for retirement?

All the US-boycotting movements suggests avoiding ETFs with US exposure but it also limits opportunities. From other hand we don’t like major corporations here on fediverse so I shouldn’t hope and profit from their growth. I guess euro stocks are more aligned with buy from EU movement and small cap stocks ETF may be more ethical choice. But I’m still not ready to do that move, as I have most of my savings in EUNL (Core MSCI World). I also have some exposure to gold and Apple specifically.

Or do you simply not pay attention to investing in stocks and more to investing in community/friends/skills?

I would love to read some your takes 😊

Hi, can you recommend some EU based crypto app?
Right now I use exodus for custody but it’s traded on NYSE and US based, doesn’t support EUR based stablecoins too.

I just heard about Bleap which is based legally in Poland but app is not even polish so I guess they try to attract foreign clients. It seems like they offer cheap purchasing of crypto with euro and spending crypto daily with card. I would love to read some more opinions though before sending them my Id.

Any recommendations?
