Does the connect app have comment navigation to jump to parent comments? I couldn't find it for weeks and I'm now using sync because it's so polished.
I paid for the sync app on Reddit back when it was like $2 or 5. I'm not paying $99 to remove ads. I know there are dev costs, but there aren't any API costs here right?
I'll still use Sync here until I see what Boost brings over it's released.
Aren't there already agreements signed? That was part of the case.
The northern most part of Brazil is closer to Canada than it is to the southern most part of Brazil.
I fully agree. I went a few weeks without reddit but decided I don't need to be some noble reddit crusader. I downloaded the reddit app yesterday to visit once a day to check some major subs that I enjoyed and aren't developed here (fantasy football, bourbon, etc). I still spend 90% of my time here, less than 5 or 10 minutes a day on reddit.
I still visit reddit maybe once a day for 10 minutes for niche subs or communities that aren't built up here. If those communities develop here, I will fully cut out reddit.
Edit: also when noting that I use Lemmy amount 90% of the time now, but my overall usage of Lemmy/reddit has gone down. Probably for the better, because I started reading again.
I was on Jerboa for a few days when I first came over, then jumped to thunder and Liftoff. The new update for Jerboa is awesome and I'm using it exclusively until Boost or Sync.
I didn't read the article, just the headline, but both can be true. They lost money but made a ton again. It's no different than someone losing a huge amount in a 401k but then having even more money in the future by not selling and the market going back up.
Fully agree. I'm cautiously going to assume (they have 2000 employees) that they did enough analysis to assume that they would come out of this on the right side. The problem is, they didn't expect spez to be a complete jack off and Apollo to release info that this whole thing was bullshit.
All of this PR probably could have been fixed very easily if they gave a 6 months notice and were going to charge a reasonable fee. I would have paid 3rd party a small fee to use their app to not see ads, but spez had other IPO plans.
I can't find anything on kbin, but lemmy has that feature. I can't wait for app support here.
Yep same here! Still check reddit for certain things but dropped it significantly and started reading again.
