What is 196? I never heard of it back on Reddit but I guess it's pretty popular!
Officially it was a subreddit where the main rule was that you had to post before you left. Unofficially it was a meme/shitposting group that was very pro lgbt+ especially pro trans. Mostly as a response to a lot of the main shitposting subs being kinda transphobic.
