To be fair, it wouldn't have been hard for anyone to think of an island or beach adventure for any of their licensed properties. World of Warcraft for instance always seems to have a new island or archipelago popping up every other expansion. Sometimes there are islands two expansions in a row.

Edit: Hell, Japan is an Island.
