...yeah pitching in to help a foreign power commit genocide will do that.

Still beats the hell out of Trump, but god damn do our options suck.

Its weird how liberals lost their shit with 'covefe,' but turn a blind eye to genocide

[-] Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world 11 points 9 months ago

I mean... folks got a kick out of covfefe, but no one really lost their shit over it; and Biden's approval ratings have been dropping since we started pouring Palestinian blood onto our hands, so idk if I'd call it a blind eye... while I would have expected a harsher response from the general pop, they're not outright ignoring it.

And in the general pop's defense, being vocal about disapproval like my original post here might be a dumb move anyway, cuz the absolute worst thing the US could do to Palestine, and Ukraine, and the fucking US, is to put Trump in charge again; so now might be time to just shut up and take the SIGNIFICANTLY lesser evil. I hate it, but that's the nature of our political system.

The ones turning a blind eye are the ones demanding everyone but Republicans need to vote for him. The ones that genocide is not a red line. Genocide and increasing poverty is not the lesser evil. This is bullshit liberals tell themselves to accept an ever growing evil that's gotten so large someone like Trump became a possibility.

Liberals did this to us, liberals have us Trump

[-] Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

The DNC gave us Trump. Liberals have been pissed off at this bullshit for decades, but our options are:

  • Less genocide (but still genocide)
  • More genocide
  • Spoiler (more genocide)

So which one are you advocating for here?

[-] K1nsey6@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

More genocide is speculative and hyperbole. Trump is shit but Biden is equally shit.

Simple solution, if you don't want trump, pressure your party to primary Biden. Or elect trump and push him left, like voters claimed they could do with Biden. Edit sp

More genocide is speculative and hyperbole. More genocide is shit but less genocide is equally shit.

Simple solution, if you don’t want more genocide, pressure your party to primary less genocide, greatly increasing the odds of electing more genocide. Or elect more genocide and watch as he commits more genocide.

Greetings, am a liberal and a Jew.

Fuck genocide and fuck Zionism.

[-] Potatofish@lemmy.world 5 points 9 months ago

Who lost their shit?

Liberals were laughing at him.

[-] K1nsey6@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago

Cool, when you've gone ahead and created that mythical perfect world, let us know. Useful idiots sure love making the perfect the enemy of the good.

not supporting trump but genocide and chaining people to chairs and going back on campaign promises since day one of being in office and the economy is worse now then when biden got in and we lost more human rights since he has been elected and the minimum wage increase he promised and never delivered and the list goes on

how is biden an acceptable answer? how is he not on the same page?

because his name is not trump? is that his only two words on the resume?

try that on your next interview -

qualifications?

well not trump can't you see?!

then you are hired!

[-] K1nsey6@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago

If every action of Biden's was done by a Republican president, liberals would be up in arms how bad things are. They are blinded by their own biases

[-] Coach@lemmy.world 12 points 9 months ago

What the fuck is this bullshit? Such an asinine poll question.

[-] autotldr@lemmings.world 4 points 9 months ago

This is the best summary I could come up with:

ABC News said it’s the lowest approval rating since former President George W. Bush from 2006 to 2008.

Biden led Trump by 15 points when respondents were asked respectively whether Trump and Biden were “honest and trustworthy”: 41 percent said that description applies to Biden — unchanged from the previous poll in May 2023 — and 26 percent said that description applies to Trump, down from 33 percent in May 2023.

Trump led Biden when asked whether the candidates had the mental sharpness to serve effectively and whether they were in good enough physical health to serve effectively — but both saw their numbers dip, when compared with last May.

One sliver of good news for Biden’s campaign could come from the decrease in his disapproval rating for his handling of the economy.

In the past, however, Biden’s campaign has warned not to focus too much on polls, noting it’s still very early in the election season.

The poll surveyed 2,228 adults and had a margin of error of 2.5 percentage points.
