Even the usual run of fact-averse folks on the right can't delude themselves into believing they're in Ms. Swift's league, so it's the same "unavailable, unattainable" presence and the same "this is not how I command the world to be organized" tantrum.

I wasn't a Swiftie at all until I heard Midnights last year, and I honestly think it could be one of the top 50 albums of all time.

And honestly people still seem way more pressed over who she's dating or not dating and the fact that she's not married than they do over her success. I mean she was America's sweetheart before she started speaking out against men.

But she seems to be a big deal in the USA and the USA is so polarised these days it is of no surprise people hate her. I assume the haters are those who adore the likes of Trump? I don’t get how anyone could hate any artist - you either enjoy them or you don’t. Where does hate come into it?
