The letter did not include any specific demands nor did it outline how the attorneys general believe the campaign could violate child protection laws.

Republicans complained when band-aid decided to make bandages for people with coloured skin instead of just assuming everyone was white.

These people are hateful morons.

I see a lot of alignment in your threads and comments with the things I care about, so please hear this feedback as coming from someone siding with you.

You may want to start using phrases like "darker complexions" instead of "coloured skin," the latter phrase referencing an outdated term of "coloreds" or "colored people" for what we now would call "people of color."

Next thing you know you'll be telling us "Chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature."

Do you feel like you advanced anything here today by saying this?

[-] billiam0202@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

"Asian-American" please.

[-] KairuByte@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

To be fair to them, there are skin tones other than “darker complexion” and “white.”

"However, Target management does have fiduciary duties to its shareholders to prudently manage the company and act loyally in the company's best interests."

Not sure how reaching out to more groups to sell more products and generate more profit amongst those groups previously left out of the equation is not in the company’s best interest.

republican ags: thats a nice store shame if something happened to it.

They're implying there are more hateful bigots in the US and that Target would lose more money by them not shopping there due to Pride merch than they'd make by selling it.

Which is probably not true for Target's clientele, but my local Walmart definitely didn't have any rainbow stuff for sale this year.

Pride merchandise is sold many places.

[-] Afkargh@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

I saw a full end cap of pride merchandise at a Walgreens, and we know who they support.

There go ultra-MAGAs and their anti-business platform.

[-] e_t_@kbin.pithyphrase.net 4 points 1 year ago

Well, Republican attorneys general, put up or shut up. Idle threats are a waste of everyone's time.

[-] Madison_rogue@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago

...but the attorneys general did suggest that Target might find it "more profitable to sell the type of Pride that enshrines the love of the United States."

Less rainbows more 'Murica, Fuck yeah!

[-] billiam0202@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

They're absolutely ignoring the fact that you can walk into any retailer and buy flag plastered merch all year round, but most of them only sell "Hey, maybe other people deserve to exist too?" stuff from June 1st to June 29th.

[-] Flaky_Fish69@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

… wait until they insist on selling the “Murica, Fuck Yeah” flag-printed ammunition next to the toy section. The casings being anodized in waving flags with an eagle.

[-] Flaky_Fish69@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

So… didn’t s republican judge just bitch at Biden for doing…. Exactly this?
