I think gender reveal parties are generally dumb. But this is like a very special kind of dumb.
They are really lame. Self indulgent too, personally I don't give a flying fuck what you have inside you. I'm down for the beers and food though. Just tell people what you are having, like normal people with common sense.
Not only stupid for having a gender reveal party, but extra stupid for lighting a fire because of it, and super-double-ultra stupid for using illegal tannerite to do it.
That's painfully dumb, even for the BC interior, and I'm from there so I know very well.
