Yeah, I'm normally on lemmy.world but I had to sign-up to a second smaller instance. You can still view ALL and see the rest, but it's soooo much quicker.

I guess that's the point of a federated system.

Same. Unfortunately posts from the new account don’t always show up when I log into the old account and look for them.

I’m sure syncing the data back to lemmy.world is just getting killed too.

In a few months there might be a way to either link various accounts in different instances or be able to shift data from one and another.

We just gotta wait I guess. We are literally in the first month of growth. It has been an insane development.

I noticed this too. I'm assuming it's just a syncing issue.

[-] Holodeck_Moriarty@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

This is the way.

Plus, nobody is going to target some tiny instance with defederation, so you won't miss out on content.

[-] CMGX78@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Yeah I opened an account on the Reddthat.com instance so I could browse ALL while Lemmyworld is on the fritz.

[-] KSPAtlas@sopuli.xyz 13 points 1 year ago

That's what happens when everyone piles on one instance instead of spreading out

so fast it feels like the app is now on crack

[-] CheshireSnake@iusearchlinux.fyi 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Yeah. This is partly why I quickly left lemmy.ml and looked for a smaller instance that plays well with my ISP. The other reason, you can probably guess.
