How does community federation work (lemmygrad.ml)

I wanted to post a comment in indieheads community here on lemmy, but from lemmygrad it does not show up. I noticed that the community is quite recent, just two days old, is there some sync that I have to wait for? Or is the issue somewhere else?

Try typing !community@server,com in the search, then hitting submit. Wait about 10 seconds or so, and you should be able to sub. You're probably the first one on your instance to sub to it so it hasn't been "loaded" by your instance yet
