Did someone prepared infected copy/scam files and put it into public?

Could be someone, who see pirates as supreme evil and most dangerous enemies?

Oh no, who could that be? Who could gain anything by damaging fighters for quality?

Me really dunno, any suggestions, help please!

I'd be more surprised if they weren't popping up.

I like to imagine they fell for something like this.

And to not embaress myself super mega is only pretending to be dumb, as some kind of meta commentary. Near the end its implied they are recording this is a public bathroom, the whole thing is intentionally bad as a bit.

There are so many ways to inform yourself about piracy and if you still can't be bothered to learn how to do it and do it properly then it's your own fault.

Also here's something to get you started you lazy bums:

This guide still recommends Proton, even though their CEO funds the French alt right.

And the main devs of lemmy are red fash to the core and you're still here, so what's your point? FMHY is a great resource for a ton of tools and sites, and I think it's pretty wild to try to imply they're fash for mentioning one of the most popular VPNs, especially given their entire mission is to facilitate bypassing corpo and government restriction and control of media

I didn’t „imply they’re fash“, but users might be hesitant to indirectly fund a far-right political actor with real influence (unlike using Lemmy).

Cs.rin.ru isn't on that list? I always thought that was the most trusted.

It's the third item down on the gaming list, and starred?

If you pirate a videogame and don't sandbox the living shit out of it, you have no one to blame but yourself.

[-] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 12 points 2 days ago

I’m playing the videogame so I don’t have to play in a sandbox.

cc @wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world

I don't do as much as I should. I run Wine (which is NOT a sandbox!!!!) inside of Bottles (which sandboxes it a little bit; it at least prevents it from accessing the real filesystem and other programs I have installed) inside of Flatpak (which internally uses Bwrap for sandboxing, which is a legit sandbox when correctly configured, although probably isn't secure against really determined malware).

I probably should use a virtual machine, just to be safe. But I don't want the headache of setting that up or the performance penalty it comes with, and I decided I trust Fitgirl enough to not try harder than Bwrap.

I'm curious too; way, way back when, I used to use Sandboxie to test shady games and programs. But I'm sure there are newer/better tools now, seeing as this was 20 years ago.

You gotta have stakes in this game
