... but it's not illegal to take photos of people in public?? Not inherently, anyway. What matters is your intent and what you do with the photos - publishing the photos could be an offence, and taking photos for sexual gratification likely would be. But generally, in public you don't have an expectation of privacy and being photographed or recorded in public is legal.
