We have so mistreated Cuba for decades to serve our own interests. It's such bullshit.
Correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding is that it's primarily the Cuban emigres in America who want keep the sanction on Cuba. The Republican party want to keep it that way because Cuban-Americans are one of their biggest voters.
Yep, that's a broader expansion of our own interests. Also anti-communism sentiment from the Cold War (whether justified or not, much of what we did to countries like Cuba was not justified)
Ah, I see you're confused. This is the "Stop Resisting" strategy. There is no appeasement. What he intends is genocide, not conquest.
So Cuba’s U.N. ambassador says he wants to know why Washington keeps piling on sanctions that stymie the very economic opening it has sought for decades.

Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
