The speed limit drop on unmarked roads to 40km/h from 50 a couple years ago seems to have resulted in a measurable decrease in driving speeds and accidents.

At this point I'd absolutely like to see speed limits reduced to 40 on smaller collector roads through neighborhoods.

I feel like the ones that are actually necessary, are slowed to 40 by design. The problem with this is, now no one (remember Calgary drivers and brains are mutually exclusive) knows what speed to drive. So now you got people going 20 down roads that are posted 50. And still merging onto the deerfoot at about that speed too.
