NEW YORK. Community resistance against federal immigration enforcement is actively expanding its operational footprint across New York City. The grassroots coalition Hands Off NYC is systematically canvassing commercial corridors from Williamsburg, Brooklyn, to Staten Island to train local businesses on how to counter federal operations. The initiative is part of a coordinated, citywide effort to establish a unified baseline of noncompliance when ICE agents enter private or public spaces.
The hotline is active seven days a week from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM and offers support in both English and Spanish. Dispatchers request that witnesses provide SALUTE details (Size, Activity, Location, Unit, Time, and Equipment) and include a photograph if it can be acquired safely. This centralized reporting mechanism allows the community to verify enforcement actions, map federal movements, and issue rapid tactical alerts to surrounding neighborhoods.
