A petition at spam.org? How much of a boomer is OP?

Just stop using Twitter. Problem solved.

Do we even need to stop using Twitter? If we don't take action against Musk, the platform will collapse and a lot of memorable tweets will be lost.

Stop using Twitter won't solve the problems we currently have on Twitter, such as more frequent downtime, false positives of rule violations leading to account suspensions, and most importantly, the disruptive changes Musk has forced, including the rebranding to X.

Resigning Musk from Twitter could be a chance to undo the mistakes Musk has made at Twitter. If you feel negative about these petitions to remove Musk from Twitter/X, you are half pro-Musk.

Also, stop thinking that change.org is spam.org, you should read this: https://www.change.org/impact

As a fediverse user: yes. We should stop using Twitter. Twitter offers absolutely nothing that Mastodon can’t.

Every time I used Change.org, they added me to a particularly aggressive spam list AND they wasted all of the effort and attention of MILLIONS of people on a subject they felt passionate about in the service of spam lists and NOTHING ELSE. Fuck that website. People who still use it are boomers.

If you feel positive about saving Twitter, you’re half pro-Nazi.

You want a better Twitter? It's already here and it's called Mastodon.

The headline implies a fact. The link takes you to a petition. Maybe just stop using twitter and move to mastodon. Twitter is just a platform. The community can move elsewhere just like we did with Lemmy.

The community can move elsewhere just like we did with Lemmy.

But we can't move the posts unless you save them.

How does one resign as owner? Is he selling it? I got a couple bucks...

Why do people still go to that dumpster fire?

[-] KirbyJoe@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

The petition is supposed to fix the dumpster fire. Also, I don't think Twitter is a dumpster fire before Elon's purchase...

Why the hell do you think he would step down because of a petition? Do you think he cares what other people think? He sure doesn't act like it. He'd just dismiss it as "woke propaganda" or whatever and make a really unfunny "joke" about it. Then he would do the opposite of stepping down.

We already have Mastodon, so it's not like Twitter is getting new users.

For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.
