The Russian trolls seem to be quite active in these comments, huh?
I didn't expect to grow up and find that war crime is borderline normalized. In like every fucking war. I thought that it was something out of the ordinary when I was young. And people who committed them were brought to justice.
But trolololol NOPE.
War criminals do get brought to justice. But it requires that their opponents fight until the war is totally won, which is not something that is often done. Most wars end in a negotiated truce. Wars like WW2 where it doesn't stop until one side surrenders unconditionally and completely submits to occupation by the other? That's less common. It happens, but not often. But when it does? Yeah, that's when you get Nuremberg trials.
These soldiers and civilians/settlers are committing war crimes on a daily/hourly basis, with the combined wars in Ukraine, Gaza, Iran, and several other places like in East Asia and Africa. I really doubt all these wars crimes will see their perpetrators convicted and punished. 😢
It should say: "Shocking: Russian Army keeps hunting down and killing civilianz".
Except it's not shocking.
yeah they just showed this video of someone being killed on the evening news like it's liveleak or something without even a warning.
The man actually survived. He suffered blast wounds, shrapnel wounds and a concussion, but seems to be otherwise fine. I don't even see any disfigurement:
So yeah, it's not a snuff film.
People should see what real war looks like. They should see it with as much warning as the victims had.
Wow in all the years of human history they don't already know? Do these people drive cars and "work" jobs?
No. Regular people do not know what war looks like. Not in the US at least. The Vietnam War was the first and most televised war in history and why it became so unpopular. After that, the people in charge of wars kept that brutality from the general public. I remember Fox News up in arms over other stations showing the solder's caskets coming back from Bush II's war because it was turning support away from it. The more you humanize the victims of war, the less and less popular it becomes. Israel's wars lack support among people who don't get their news from main stream.
- Russia: "When we do it, it's fine. When Ukraine does it, it's a war crime!"
Do Ukraine hunt civilians? I haven't heard anything to that effect. In fact everything I have heard about Ukrainian strategy and logistics suggests to me that they'd consider that to be a waste of a drone. And Ukraine aren't doing so well in this war that they'd consider themselves at liberty to waste precious drones on killing random individual Russian civilians.
Says every side.
It is like trust me bro....no way this could be a false flag... meanwhile ukraine is helping israel by attacking iran. The war is going full blown WW3 and truth no longer matters anymore. Get ready to be drafted for ww3 to die for PDFiles and their ambitions.
On what evidence are you basing this claim of it being a false flag?
Their handler told them so.
Is ml leaking into .ca?
Noticed that too
There should be an IQ verification to allow people to comment
They're called pedophiles. Just say it.
🤣
When a Shahed drone finds you don't forget to wave

Rules:
-
Rule 1: posts have the following requirements:

- Recent (Past 30 Days)
- Screenshots/links to other social media sites (Twitter/X/Facebook/Youtube/reddit, etc.) are explicitly forbidden, as are link shorteners.

Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think "Is this fair use?", it probably isn't. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.
-
Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed.
-
Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.
-
Posts and comments must abide by the lemmy.world terms of service UPDATED AS OF OCTOBER 19 2025

Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
-
Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.
-
Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.
