I was once approached by random group of highschool girls when I got out of my truck, one sheepishly asked me if I had a tape measure they could borrow.

I pulled out 3, asked if they needed a metric one, and then two of them started giggling. Apparently the two insisted I would have one because I drove a truck "that looks like it gets used" (dents, rust, and a busted front end from the previous owner) so surely I must have a tape measure and toolbox.

I guess they needed to measure their car to make sure a TV would fit, but I felt simultaneously helpful, and slightly judged lmao
