Shut off their water lines, cut off their power, cancel trash collection, and close their roads. Failure to abide by the laws regulating infrastructure means they don't deserve infrastructure.

[-] njordomir@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

Arrest their entire c-team.

[-] fira@lemmy.today 1 points 2 weeks ago

This. setup road blocks on trash day & see how long they last in sticking piles of garbage

Last month, the Department of Justice sided with SpaceX in the NAACP’s lawsuit, saying the unpermitted turbines were a matter of “national, economic, and energy security.”

This says it all

[-] kalleboo@lemmy.world 38 points 2 weeks ago

Of course, the only people who have to make sacrifices for national, economic, and energy security are poor people

[-] Doomsider@lemmy.world 15 points 2 weeks ago

Breaking the law is a matter of national security. So is raping children and covering it up. So much security!

[-] Almacca@aussie.zone 3 points 2 weeks ago

Bold move to put your “national, economic, and energy security” in the hands of a drug-addled former illegal immigrant.

[-] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

It's easy to see why they allow it

[-] Almacca@aussie.zone 1 points 2 weeks ago

I also forgot to add criminal-at-large to that descriptor.

[-] muusemuuse@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 weeks ago

So shut it down with methods outside the law. A brick is a brick.

2 months ban from the Epstein Island

[-] CosmoNova@lemmy.world 47 points 2 weeks ago

With SpaceX we actually have a company that has a real incentive to wreck the planet and that should have everyone concerned.

[-] BillyClark@piefed.social 13 points 2 weeks ago

I get what you're saying, but it's still harder to live in space or on Mars than to try to fix Earth. What I'm saying is that SpaceX would have to be run by a complete idiot for them to think they have an incentive to ruin the planet...... Wait.... It is run by a complete idiot.

Hush, unbeliever. We just gotta invest more in the technologies that let us escape from the consequences of our greed. Well, some of us. The most greedy, actually. The rest still get to bear the consequences, but they don't matter.

Point is: pour more money into training machines to imitate all the things we don't actually understand the complexity of, and surely we'll no longer need those people when we finally escape to a better future where our serfs don't need such petty things as rights and payment. And if you help us get that, you just might get a ride on our escape too!

(You won't, but I'm hoping you're gullible enough to fall for it.)

It is run by a complete idiot.

And enabled by other idiots. Musk doesn't exist in a vacuum.

All I'm hearing is "let's build the ~~Ocean~~SpaceGate station and fill it with all the billionaires" and I'm struggling to see a downside.

[-] luciferofastora@feddit.org 2 points 2 weeks ago

If we can pull it off before they manage to manipulate us into fucking up our world, sure. If we let their slopgenerators produce the drafts for the station, I'm sure they'll love the breathtaking result.

[-] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 41 points 2 weeks ago

"Officer. I will not blow into that breathalyzer for another year!". Enforcement of the law works differently, depending on which end of the socio-economic scale you live on.

[-] Wulff@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 weeks ago

Then it means it's not a law, just a tax on the poor.

[-] muzzle@lemmy.zip 40 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

And when you're ~~a star~~ rich, they let you do it. You can do anything.

[-] jpreston2005@lemmy.world 37 points 2 weeks ago

The company claims that it is allowed to operate the existing turbines without permits

xAI has been operating gas turbines that have the potential to emit more than 2,000 tons of smog-forming NOx per year.

the Department of Justice sided with SpaceX in the NAACP’s lawsuit, saying the unpermitted turbines were a matter of “national, economic, and energy security.”

just another case of "I'm rich, therefore, the law doesn't apply to me." And the 1000% corrupt DOJ turning around and being like "yeah, actually, that's true."

Time to remove SpaceX from the Planet

[-] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 16 points 2 weeks ago

And this is why they get rid of oversight. A Simple inspection of the plans or work to be done would have showed these turbines before they were ever built.

I doubt they’ll be removed.

[-] luthis@lemmy.nz 14 points 2 weeks ago

Man just wait til the HOA finds out about this

[-] reksas@sopuli.xyz 13 points 2 weeks ago

why remove them at all? its not like they are getting any real consequences for anything they do

[-] Saledovil@sh.itjust.works 8 points 2 weeks ago

The obvious course of action in a sensible society would be to fine them 0.01$ on day one, 0.02$ on day 2, 0.04$ on day 3, then 0.08$ and so on. Until the turbines have been removed.

[-] Malyca@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 weeks ago

Or remove them yourself

[-] anon_8675309@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago

Now that Trump is involved it may never happen.

[-] Treczoks@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

[-] muusemuuse@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 weeks ago

Everyone else: follows laws

Elon musk: hmm, that puts them at a disadvantage. Maybe next year.
