Let’s boycott Amazon and support a great crown corporation.

I know this feels rather novel and even strange in the Canadian context, but other postal systems around the world have integrated shops/markets/other services for years.

Spain https://www.market.correos.es/

France https://www.laposte.fr/boutique

Italy https://www.postemobile.it/privati/offerte-telefonia-mobile

Oh wow, this is really cool, I had no idea they were working on something like this.

I trust they can manage it, they already ship like half of amazon's packages

Hopefully this can help secure their future.

I hope this is not another failed project like le panier bleu of qubec

Not cool about them taking away my door delivery for a neighborhood box, though. It won't fit those packages.

There's usually a bigger box for larger items or it's held at the post office.

Interesting. I wonder what the buusness model is here. Not from profit perpsective but rather the inner workings of it.

I think they are trying to directly copy amazon's model. I mean, having an online storefront with Canadian products is cool, but that alone is not likely to catch on and be profitable. I think it's one step in a much bigger plan.

Imagine if CPC sets up a warehouse in every major city across the country stocked with all the products listed on their storefront. Then they can fast-track local items into the mail stream as orders come in, or even have a separate fleet of delivery drivers just for that purpose. The new collective agreement already has carveouts for that type of position.

The ultimate goal would be to offer same-day delivery and start eating into prime's market share.

With the 20% Bezos takes off of every sale going into union job wages.
