We NEED to Give a Foreign Country FULL ACCESS to our Taxdollars and Military Intelligence!

-America First People!

[-] Sanctus@anarchist.nexus 78 points 1 month ago

Kinda feel like both of these countries aren't going to be here much longer.

[-] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 6 points 1 month ago

Israel yes, America no. The only way America wouldn't be here much longer is if a civil war happened (and even then it'd need to end in a stalemate), and there are simply no two sides with the guts to escalate things that far. MAGA and the rest of the far right have it in them to pull such a stunt if their grip on power is challenged, but would the center-left to center-right respond in kind? Absolutely not. Unfortunately America isn't going anywhere.

That can easily escalate: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_Cities

Every republican will vote for this and 6 democrats.

Lefties on lemmy will immediately tell you it's the democrat's fault.

[-] ironycanal@lemmy.dbzer0.com 36 points 4 weeks ago

Always just enough dems for it to happen. Always in safe seats or not running for reelection, always....

[-] Sharkticon@lemmy.zip 23 points 4 weeks ago

I never really understand these comments. Like what do you all expect exactly? We already think the Republicans are bad. They're the bad guys. They're the villains. We expect them to do the bad thing. They're all fascists who are trying to murder a lot of us.

I just don't understand what you're expecting from me with these kind of comments. Congratulations? I mean saying that most of you don't vote with Republicans is like bragging to me that most of you haven't raped someone today. You want a cookie?

[-] ironycanal@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 4 weeks ago

I would, yes. If I need to have not raped anyone today to get it? Well, so be it.

[-] Mulligrubs@lemmy.world 1 points 4 weeks ago* (last edited 4 weeks ago)

Jesus Christ buddy, why are you sitting there thinking of rape?

There's lots of things you don't understand, like how those "bad-guy" Republicans depend on the "good-guy" Democrats to pass their legislation as a matter of routine.

If you sit at the table with rapists, aren't you a rapist? Or nazi. Whatever.

They're the same guys, and those labels demonstrate why this simple "good guy/bad guy" routine is so successful (and has been since the days of Rome).

[-] optimisticturtle@lemmy.world 9 points 4 weeks ago

To be fair to the lemmy leftists in this hypothetical, often when a few dems break rank, that means leadership picked the fewest, safest ones to take the heat. AIPAC and centrist Dems are problematic. (Although lemmy leftists will shit on all Democrats because they want Republican whackjobs to run this country into the ground.)

[-] kreskin@lemmy.world 15 points 4 weeks ago* (last edited 4 weeks ago)

because they want Republican whackjobs to run this country into the ground

Leftists want our party to stop supporting genocide.
And if we cant have that, then yes we have no choice but to burn it all down.

Why is "no genocide" such an awkward ask in your eyes? why is it so much to ask from dems?

[-] ironycanal@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 4 weeks ago

That is absolutely what we want. Thank you for understanding, yes.

[-] K1nsey6@lemmy.world 4 points 4 weeks ago

As a uniparty they alway find just enough votes for their legislation to pass.

[-] osanna@lemmy.vg 1 points 4 weeks ago

those darn democrats!

[-] ChicoSuave@lemmy.world 24 points 1 month ago

Slow motion invasion. Israel is colonizing America for money and bodies to fight their wars.

[-] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 9 points 1 month ago

As much as I hate Israel, no. Israel is being allowed to pull this shit by the American political establishment because ultimately Israel and America's goals in the region align. Of course by America's goals I mean the goals of the American ruling class. Israel sucks, but for the most part they're an extension of America's will.

[-] leftzero@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 4 weeks ago

Yeah, and the Roman Empire lasted until 1453, but that doesn't mean what people think of when they say Roman Empire didn't collapse in 476 (and the Byzantine Empire in 1204).

Whatever's left of the USA in a few decades might call itself USA (well, one or two bits of it might, others most definitely won't), but it evidently won't be the USA as we understand it today, and neither would any hypothetical future union or coalition of those fragments.

Wasn't the CIA founded with the former head of the SS and many of their staff...i am willing to be wrong but I seem to remember reading something about that when we brought the Nazi scientists and all that...

[-] sudo@programming.dev 19 points 1 month ago

Operation Paperclip was real but the CIA wasn't founded by (German) Nazis. IIRC NATO had ex-nazis in its founding but they were like Wehrmacht or politicians not SS.

Now the CIA did organize former SS agents in West Germany to act as terrorists/partisans should the Soviets invade in the German version of Operation Gladio.

[-] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

I love that operation paper clip is so well known. I remember when it didn’t have a name and the suggestion itself was a “conspiracy theory”

[-] K1nsey6@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Operation Paper Clip was one out of hundreds of operations during that time that imported thousands of Nazis.

[-] yucandu@lemmy.world 3 points 4 weeks ago

The problem is that Operation Osoaviakhim is not well known.

[-] SpruceBringsteen@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Operation Paperclip

Seems like Cotton knows the winds changing, and is trying to legislate that the weather vane be welded in place before it does.

[-] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

This tells me Mr. Cotton's on video in Israel's databases doing unspeakable things.

[-] sudo@programming.dev 8 points 1 month ago

The good news is it won't be full bipartisian. Plenty of junior politicians know which way the wind is blowing here. But its still going to pass and it will be largely bipartisan.

[-] bagsy@lemmy.world 8 points 4 weeks ago

"forever" lol. Laws can be un-made little man.
